| | So my dad was right about college: you have more time and less time than you've ever had in your life, or ever will again. School and everything else are integrated together so that I'm always doing homework but manage to find time to do the most random things. Case in point: last night we had a "Pin the Feature on the Person" party in the basement of Lane (one of the classroom buildings) where we played Pin the Tail on the Donkey but with different people around campus. We pinned the Man Hug on the Taylor, the Big Mouth on the Deborah, and (best of all) the Asian on the Matt Stone (who is already Asian). Other semester highlights include: - the Fall Break trip to Chicago with 16 other people to see Wicked...and I won front row tickets!
- the Hillsdale Chargers having an 8-3 season and breaking all kinds of records (they typically stink)
- Tuesday Tea at Waterman Residence
- random late night talks in Matt, Taylor, and Josiah's rooms about all manner of things
- joining a brand new church that actually meets on campus, the Hillsdale Orthodox Presbyterian Church
- filming a music video of Taylor singing Enrique Iglesias's "Hero", which is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life...quite possibly the best weekend I've had since I've come up here
- getting to see a lecture by Walter Williams, one of the only columnists I read with regularity
- going to see The Marriage of Figaro with the Honour's Program and sitting next to Prof. Siegel at dinner
- finding out that I actually can dance, and joining the swing club on campus
- accountability with Andrew and David, two other SovGrace guys not afraid to speak the truth
- Thursday Bible Study of the Sermon on the Mount with the one and only Dan Burfiend
- making friends with some of the coolest people on the face of the earth
- being challenged in my doctrinal beliefs by Catholics, Lutherans, and others who really know their stuff...beware Covenant Life, I'm bringing home some tough questions
So life is good. Even so, I can't wait to get home and see all my old friends (not to mention being done with all my classes for a month). I've been posting pics on my Facebook, but even if you don't have Facebook, you can still see the albums through these links. Enjoy!
